Synopsis:

Our film is essentially a thriller although it touches upon themes of psychology with the main character experiencing hallucinations out of her control. The film switches between past, present and future and the audience are kept speculating to try and figure out what is real and what is purely imagination and evocations of an unstable mind.
Our target audience would have to be young adults and above as the two minute clip features quite disturbing images and it is based around murder so for a younger age group it would not be acceptable. It would be most popular for teenagers as they seem to seek out things that will disturb them at that age and recent thrillers have been extremely popular. For example, Paranormal Activity, a very recent film with a pretty self-explanatory title is an American horror film based around a couple who are haunted by a supernatural presence in their home. It is one of the most profitable movies ever made, it was nominated for an award and giving ratings with an average of 82%.
Going by this analysis of critical response from a recent horror/thriller movie, I feel our film would attract a large audience with a range of approximately 15 to 30 year olds as the film is quite intense and goes deeply into psychosis of the mind.
The key character is a young female who has this mental problem, she experiences sequences of hallucinations each day where she is murdered by a mysterious, unknown man. She is constantly tormented by these episodes and psychologists find it hard to talk to her at first as she is reluctant to reveal any past traumas that could be triggering the visions.
We chose to film in normal locations to juxtapose with the abnormal mental state of the main character. However, each sequence is filmed in different areas to sustain a level of mystery and to keep the audience engaged.
Our unique selling point is that our film incorporates many popular themes such as: murder-mystery. This allows for a popular audience participation style as they are required to follow this one woman’s psychological breakdown and depict whether she is purely insane or whether she is experiencing premonitions.
Our film acquires quite an original storyline as we found when conducting research on similar films. Apart from a few, it was difficult to find other films with a psychotic thriller genre, with a female key role as the important issue.
It is unclear in the two minute opening whether the murder sequences are set in the past or the future but we decided to keep this unclear to add to the vagueness and allow the audience to take a subjective decision with their own theories. The only part set in the present is right at the end where the identity of the female is eventually acknowledged and the inquisition regarding her appearance is revealed.
Our film manages to amalgamate the past, the present and the future and the audience never quite know which state their actually in. This fittingly corresponds with the main character who also struggles to realise whether she is seeing into the future and predicting the possibilities of her own death or whether she has experienced a previous trauma in her life that the audience is yet to find out about.

The possibilities are endless and this is what forces people to watch it and find out!
